Beth Elkins Wales

 
Beth is the owner and principal teacher at The Pilates LAB in Buffalo, New York. She is a 2002 graduate of the Core Dynamics Teacher Training Program, under Michele Larsson, and is now a Core Dynamics Teacher Trainer, under the direction of Kevin Bowen. She holds a B.A. in Dance Performance and Mind-Body Techniques from State University of New York (SUNY) Empire State College. With her husband, she co-directs a multi-media dance company called Nimbus Dance.
Read More Beth has taught at the Human Movement Conference in Santa Fe, New Mexico. Beth taught Pilates and Modern Dance in the Canisius College Dance Department and has taught Master Classes in dance and Pilates at the University at Buffalo’s Dance Department. She was on faculty at the Chautauqua Institution’s Dance Department, under the direction of Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux. She served as Ballet Mistress to the Festival Dancers for four summers, and she directed the Chautauqua Regional Youth Ballet for five years.

Beth has attended seminars with Pilates elders Kathy Stanford Grant, Ron Fletcher, and Lolita San Miguel, as well as master teachers Brent Anderson, Eric Franklin, Rachel Taylor Segel, Amy Taylor Alpers, Debora Kolwey, Suzanne Gutterson, Deborah Lessen, and Julian Littleford, among others.

Originally from Syracuse, New York, Ms. Elkins Wales danced in Milwaukee Ballet, Columbus’ BalletMet, and Xing Ballet of Toronto before settling in Western New York, where she performed with Pick of the Crop Dance, Neglia Ballet Artists, and Buffalo City Ballet. Beth is currently furthering her movement area of expertise by pursuing a Cancer Exercise Specialist Certification.
